My Issues with Wearing Heels

Lort have I had trouble with shoes no matter where I’ve shopped. I’ve had mostly negative experiences because when I try on shoes I get discouraged; my ankles are either too big or my actual feet are too big to fit parts of the actual shoe.

When I wear heels… Actually I don’t. I never wear heels. The only time I think I’ve ever been seen wearing heels is at a couple of photoshoots I’ve done over the years only because I didn’t’ have to walk in them lmao. The reason why I don’t wear heels is because 99% of my experiences have not been good ones. I thought it could be partly my fault because I always went for those tiny, thin heels with hardly any support on the bottoms.

I had basically given up on finding heels. I was however, given the task to talk about wide fit shoes and was a bit reluctant at first because of my issues I have with even wide fit shoes. I almost changed my task but being the never giver upper person I am (LOL I’ve given up on quite a few things through life, who hasn’t) I decided to give heels another try at Yours.

Now before I share my new experiences, I’m going to share the top mistakes I’ve made because if you think there are any similarities in our body types, it might help!

1. I have bought shoes with a thick second strap over the vamp area, does that make sense? I don’t have a big arch on my foot but I do have pretty chubby and wide feet. They don’t fit and there’s no point in wasting my money on shoes that I can’t even put on.

2. I’ve bought shoes that are wide, or “e” before but they apparently aren’t wide enough for me. I’d still have to size up and I’d look like I was wearing clown shoes. My feet wouldn’t have any support and would feel very sore just after a few minutes of walking. I’ve found that EEE is the best option in sizing for me.

3. High tops are usually a no-no. I have the Vans Bo Peep shoes that came out last year and they fit just fine but I had to size up. I wouldn’t recommend walking in them for a long time though.

4. As I mentioned before, long, tiny heels are horrible for me. There’s not enough balance and almost immediately I am uncomfortable and even though they look pretty, they are not for me.

All this said, it’d probably be best to try shoes on in person unless you’ve never had these issues. BUT NOW TO MOVE ON TO THE GOOD STUFF!

Even though I was reluctant at first, I did give heels another shot and purposely bought extra wide fit shoes that had more of a platform heel and toe. Here’s what I feel about my top 3:

1. First are these Black Comfort Insole Suede Wedges

They are the narrowest of the three at the heel, but they are still very comfortable! I am a bit wobbly in these still but I think it’s just a matter of getting used to walking around in heels. The insole provides support and like the next two, adds automatic comfort that I am very thankful for LOL.

2. Black Comfort Insole Platform Slingback Heels with Glitter Bow

They are still chunky but they are more comfortable on the back of my ankles. They don’t dig into the back of my foot like a lot of shoes normally do because of the strap and I feel like I’m about to walk the runway in these because they’re pretty high up but still very manageable!

3. Last but not least, and my ultimate FAVES!!! Black Comfort Insole Platform Sandals with Block Heel

These are the actual best and the most comfortable heels/platforms I have ever worn. They are available in EEE and I was so surprised the second I put them on. I was able to walk in them right away, and because they have a little elastic on the buckle, they close with no issues. I spent hours wearing and walking in them with socks on at home (cuz that’s a tip I learned on how to break them in) and my knees, calves, and feet didn’t hurt at all! This is the first ever pair that I actually felt 100% comfortable in and confident in being able to wear them out. I’m still working my way up (and almost wore them last week but rain and NAH AH CHICA I’M NOT ABOUT TO FALL ON MY FACE JUST TO LOOK CUTE LMAO) to wearing them outdoors but you know that Manchester weather! When I wear em out, you’ll definitely see it happen hahaha!

Who Doesn’t Like a Flowy Spring Outfit?

melmc

I was given the task by Yours Clothing to create a celebrity style steal featuring trends that are in right now and the first person I thought of was one of my favorite plus size cuties, Melissa McCarthy.

When I saw this look I immediately fell in love! To me, this outfit would be made even more perfect with a wind machine in front of her at all times to showcase her diva & boss lady status LOL. I’ve always admired her sense of style (and humor) whether it’s something she wore in the movies or something more casual off screen. I think I actually let out a little gasp because of how cute I think this look is.

Going back to the Yours task, this casual but floating-on-a-cloud look for spring inspired me to put my steal together. I chose a light, airy, pink top, a black and white midi skirt, white heels, suede bucket bag, and crystal drop earrings to pull the whole look together. You can get the following items on Yours Clothing‘s website and here’s a price breakdown with the links!:
Pink Top -£21
Black & White Midi Skirt – On Sale!!! £8.50
White heels £19
Suede Bucket Bag – £16
Crystal Drop Earrings – £4

I chose this look for spring because this an outfit that I would personally wear – especially if I could wear heels, but more on that later this week. My style has always been about comfort and when I look at this outfit not only do I see comfort but also versatility. It’s something you could wear for business meetings, a cute brunch, afternoon tea or even just to go out and have a fun picnic in the spring sun!
